Holiday Hampers at Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver

This holiday season, Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver is celebrating by giving the gift of holiday hampers to families who need it most. This is the 8th year that various companies, individuals, staff, volunteers and families have come together to provide food, household items, clothes and toys to families who could benefit from a little boost during the holidays. This year, BBGV and generous sponsors donated time and money into putting together a record thirty holiday hampers and 3 toy drives! Within the agency, staff and Board exceeded expectations and sponsored 7 families!

Katrina McKeown, a Hamper Committee coordinator says that putting the hampers together was a lot of fun, especially when you know the kids and can imagine how excited they will be to receive all these toys. But our families weren't the only ones benefiting from the hampers. Staff, volunteers, individuals and companies experienced the true spirit of the holiday season as they learned that all it takes is a little team work to make a family's Christmas a little brighter.

"The only reason the Hamper Program was so successful this year is because of the genuine desire of our sponsors to reach out to the families that need it most. I was really blown away by the generosity this year," says McKeown.

Congratulations to the Hamper Committee for putting it all together, and to the sponsors who made it all possible. Happy Holidays from Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver!
