Best Friends, Best Men
I remember the first day I met my best friend on February 28, 1993. It was the best gift anyone could ever ask for, a new brother.
Mark was my second Big Brother and the second that Mark had been matched with as well. I will never forget one of the first things I ever said to him, as he reminded me at my wedding. I told him he had a really nice car, a 1992 Eagle Talon.
From that day forward, Mark and I have gone through everything together. From his wedding to mine this summer. I feel to this day that if it wasn't for him and his family taking me in as one of their own, I would have been lost to the system. One other person I will never forget is my case-worker. I think I probably called her more than I should have and she always took the time to talk.
With the impact that Big Brothers has had in my life, I hope to be able to help another young boy one day.
