Find an In-School Mentor

Description

In-School Mentoring is a one-to-one encouragement program for boys and girls in grades 1-6. A child and his/her Big Buddy meet for one hour a week at the child's elementary school to play games and sports, do arts and crafts, or just hang out and talk. Volunteers commit to a minimum of one year (but they do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays).

John has turned my life around, without him my life would be totally different "I am always so excited to see my Big Buddy!"

This program is a co-operative effort between school boards, local businesses and Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver. It is currently in place in select schools within the districts of Burnaby, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, Squamish, Surrey, Vancouver and Whistler.

This program is friendship-based and non-academic, which means there's no tutoring involved. So you can focus on perfecting your macaroni collage and monkey bar technique.
