Supporting the Healthy Development of Children
Big Brother Jay and Little Brother Hugh - The Frank Rigney Match of the Year
All proceeds from The 2012 Scotiabank Bowl for Big Brothers Classic support Big Brothers’ quality mentoring programs by funding volunteer screening and training as well as the monitoring of friendships.
Mentoring programs help kids reach their full potential by heightening self esteem and enabling them to make healthy decisions.
Studies indicate kids with mentors perform better academically, display improved personal relationships and are less inclined to use drugs and alcohol as teens.
In some areas of the Lower Mainland, kids have to wait two years for Big Brothers.
